Patrice Banks, entrepreneur, owner of Girls Auto Clinic, author, and sheCANic, will be awarded the 2017 PoWeR Award at the 15th Annual Professional Women’s Roundtable Anniversary Event.

Every year, PWR presents the PoWeR Award to a woman, or group of women, in the Philadelphia community who is a trailblazer—someone who deserves to be recognized for her contributions to the community by serving as a role model for emerging women business leaders.

Patrice is a female entrepreneur taking the automotive industry by storm. Once a self-proclaimed “auto air-head”, Patrice took her engineering degree, became a certified automotive technician, and started a business that defies gender stereotypes while encouraging women to feel comfortable about their car repair. Through support, trust, and empowerment, Patrice has created a community of sheCANics. In addition to her award-winning shop, Girls Auto Clinic, and monthly workshops, Patrice has released a "one-stop-do-it-herself-guide to auto maintenance": Girls Auto Clinic Glove Box Guide. The Glove Box Guide empowers women to take control of the wheel so they never feel mistreated, misunderstood, or taken advantage of again. It provides readers with answers to all their common car questions through DIY instructions, tips, and illustrations.

Join us for heavy appetizers and drinks to celebrate our 2017 PoWeR Award Winner, Patrice Banks, and her contributions to women’s empowerment in Philadelphia, followed by a Glove Box Guide book signing. Books will be available to purchase on site.
