Every year the Professional Women’s Roundtable chooses its PoWeR Award winner, a woman in the Philadelphia community who is a trailblazer and who is committed to mentoring women and/or advancing women’s issues, particularly among emerging women business leaders.
PWR is honored to announce that its annual PoWeR award will be given to Nikki Johnson-Huston, Esq.
Nikki Johnson-Huston, Esq. is a tax attorney in Philadelphia with her own firm, The Law Office of Nikki Johnson-Huston LLC and spent over 6 years as an Assistant City Solicitor in the Major Tax Unit for the City of Philadelphia Law Department. A 2004 graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law, she earned a J.D./M.B.A/ LL.M in Taxation in only four years. Nikki is a frequent speaker on how she overcame a life of poverty and homelessness to become a successful attorney. In 2015 she launched “Donafy”, a micro-philanthropy iPhone app that allows citizens to locate and donate to nearby nonprofit organizations that service people in need of emergency housing, food, medical care, mental health, job training, LGBT and Legal Services.
Nikki Johnson-Huston, Esq. will be presented the award and give a keynote address at New Century Trust, the founding location of the oldest continuously running women's organization in the United States, to be followed by a special modern dance performance by SHARP Dance Company.
